SLIPKNOT RATTLE EARS WITH THEIR NEW SINGLE: "The Chapeltown Rag"

For fans of the gargantuan heavy metal band Slipknot, it has been now been over two years since they've released their sixth studio effort We Are Not Your Kind in August 2019. Though it appears they won't have to wait much longer to hear about news for the band's upcoming seventh studio album as they recently released "The Chapeltown Rag" back on 5th November.

Though, this was no surprise as the release of new material was a long time coming for the band. It was revealed as early as last year that frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the band had started to think about their seventh studio album as they were stuck in lockdowns amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to tour. This inevitably left the band to start to write new material with nothing else to do. While the frontman had other priorities such as the release of his solo debut album CMFT and the future of his side band Stone Sour who later went into hiatus, leaving Taylor to solely focus and fully commit to Slipknot. During this time period, this wouldn't stop the rest of the band from working on the highly anticipated record. Co-founder and percussionist, Shawn "Clown" Crahan would describe the material they were working on as "god music" and later revealed that the new album would "hopefully" release in 2021.

Taylor would later reveal in October that the band was just finishing up some music from the new album and stated; "Don't be surprised if in the next month or so you hear something new."

He kept to his word and this past Friday, the band released "The Chapeltown Rag" which harks back to their nu metal glory days from their eponymous debut in 1999.

Alongside the release of the new song, "The Chapeltown Rag" had its first live performance the same day in Los Angeles, California at the Knotfest Roadshow co-headlined by British metalcore defining act Bring Me The Horizon.

Stream "The Chapeltown Rag" now.
