It has been over a whole three years now since the Japanese sweethearts Babymetal released their third studio album Metal Galaxy in October 2019. A lot has happened in this time, they've lost their third core member Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) the year prior who left for health reasons, and one of the Kami Band touring members Mikio Fujioka has also since passed away also. The future after the release of Metal Galaxy has looked bleak, since the band celebrated their tenth anniversary in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were forced to only be able to release a live compilation album titled 10 Babymetal Years in 2020, which then left cryptic teasers not long after teasing a hiatus or breakup much to the heartbreak of fans.
However, this turned out not to be the case as the Kawaii metal pioneers shockingly announced their fourth studio album scheduled to be released on 24th March 2023; The Other One will be a concept album about all the separate parallel worlds that the Fox God has discovered.
The Tokyo outfit sent their fandom into a complete frenzy this past Friday as they released the lead single from their highly anticipated upcoming album, "Divine Attack - Shingeki." The song unleashes into full force in a mere instant as it rockets into a power metal banger, once again beautifully exploding into the chorus as Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) and Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) collide, proving once again why they live up to their hype. The kawaii metal hooks work perfectly for Babymetal as they launch into the new era with a truly devastating divine attack on the music industry that is sure to silence their critics.
Stream "Divine Attack - Shingeki" now.
